A little help from my family

Waking early has become a habit.  Peter had the brainy idea to put the Keurig from our camper into our bedroom upstairs in Mom's house.  We bought the little creamers that don't need refrigeration and we make coffee when we wake up and spend quiet time planning for the day.

Today Peter was going to finish the rest of the kitchen cabinets, and start painting the chair rail in the kitchen.   Despite using his electric sander in the kitchen (room right under Mom's bedroom) Mom slept until 10:45.  When she came down to her "room" she was a little confused. My brother Steve and I sat with her.  She didn't know I was her  daughter and was amazed to know that I knew who my brother Steve was.  The memory comes and goes.

I spent time on the internet trying to find a trash removal service for weekly trash pick up.  However, no one comes to Andover ๐Ÿ˜’ We create 4 to 5 large black bags of trash every day!!  There is a dump in town but you can't use the dump with a Florida plate on your car and it is only open Wed and Sat.

I am truly convinced that God is working with us on this adventure.  My nephew Danny called about 11:00 and asked if he could come over and take trash to the town dump for us.  He lives in Andover and has the necessary sticker on his car.  What a blessing.  He took every bag we had filled.  He was so pleased to see the improvements we have made in the house.  I feel my family coming together in this adventure!!!!!

This part is from Peter. Seeing Sandy sacrifice every day for her mother is so heartwarming. She takes care of her mother with such gentleness and caring. I am so proud of her. She chose to give up a very comfortable lifestyle in Florida to move to the frigid  north to care for her mother. I am very proud of her and in awe of her dedication. Makes me love her even more.

We are a great team.  Always have been and always will be.

I (Sandy) had the pleasure of showing Mom the kitchen cabinets.  She loves how they look and said "Did you have to throw away anything"........only a little Mom ๐Ÿ˜ž I hate to lie, but sometimes it's a good thing.

Mom helped me pick out a new border for above the chair rail in the kitchen. It is so awesome when she is lucid.

Today has been a good one.  Hopefully tomorrow will be too.  Sometimes you have to take a few steps backwards to go forward.

I did a face to face with her doctor yesterday.  We are working to get her a hospital bed.  The big problem is where we will put it.  She can't do the stairs much longer to go to bed.  It will be a big hurdle to move her downstairs.

Small steps every day!!  But so rewarding ๐Ÿ’“
